Translation Services

Multicultural NSW translates a range of written information such as personal documents (e.g. driver's licenses, birth certificates and qualifications), sight translations, multilingual translations of pamphlets, transcription of audio/video tapes, as well as checking and proofreading of translated material.

We have been the preferred choice of many government agencies including NSW Attorney-General’s Department, NSW Police, the NSW Crime Commission, NSW Department of Corrective Services and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Our incomparable customer service, quality and ability to provide accurate & secure translations, we are one of only two agencies certified to provide translation services pertaining to identification documents for Service NSW (the other being Department of Immigration and Border Protection).

We currently provide a range of translation services to the Department of Justice and NSW Police which includes - phone intercepts, police transcripts court transcripts as well as other more general documents including media releases and brochures.

Personal Document Translations (IDs and information)

If you need one of the following personal documentations translated into English; or from English to another language, follow the below process to book an appointment and submit the material for translation, at a Service NSW Centre near you.

Personal documents include:

How to apply

  1. Download and complete both the Translation Lodgement Form and Additional Information Form
  2. Find your local service centre and book an appointment
  3. Attend your appointment with the documents to be translated, and your payment.

  • Payment Receipt or funds for payment

Fees

Fees for Standard (Personal) document translations are:

  • $80.00 (7 business days + postage time)
  • $105.00 (express service - 2 business days + express postage time; please note: not available for all languages)

Turnaround time

You can choose a turnaround time of:

  • 24-48 hours (express service)
  • 7 business days

The translation cost will depend on which turnaround time you choose.

For all services you can have it mailed to you via ordinary or Express post.

Please note

  • Turnaround time 'doesn't' include the time it takes for it to be mailed to you.
  • Translation collection from Multicultural NSW Parramatta office is temporarily unavailable.

Centrelink recipient

If you’re a permanent resident who receives Centrelink benefits, you might be able to get your document translated for free. You should contact Multicultural NSW directly to submit a document.
