NSW Interpreter and Translator Scholarship Program
Multicultural NSW is committed to developing the language services industry and improving access to information and services for all people in NSW. As part of this commitment, we support people who want to start or strengthen their career in the language services industry.
Our Scholarship program opens doors to working as a NAATI certified interpreter and/or translator. It also provides opportunities to upskill and ensure that the needs of new and emerging communities are considered.
CLAS information and examination
The Community Language Allowance Scheme (CLAS) recognises the language skills of NSW Government employees who can provide on-the-spot language assistance in the workplace.
CLAS is an allowance paid to qualified NSW Government employees who have a basic level of competency in a language other than English and work in locations where their language can be used to assist customers.
Multicultural NSW has engaged NAATI to deliver language proficiency testing to establish eligibility for CLAS.
