After more than seven years as Chief Executive Officer of Multicultural NSW, I am finishing up at Multicultural NSW as I move on to a new role as Deputy Secretary, Crown Lands and Public Spaces within the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure.
You can read a media statement about this announcement here.
When I reflect on my time at Multicultural NSW, what stands out most is the community I have worked alongside. Multicultural NSW exists to serve people from every corner of the world who call NSW home, and it has been deeply meaningful to see your strength, contribution and resilience up close.
I have led community responses at some of the most challenging moments in our state’s history, including during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Bondi terror attack response. These experiences reinforced for me the importance of trust, connection and working closely with community when it matters most.
None of this work is done alone. I have been incredibly fortunate to work alongside an outstanding team at Multicultural NSW whose professionalism, care and commitment is exceptional.
As I prepare to move into a new role, I do so with a deep gratitude for the people I have worked with and learned from along the way.
My final day with Multicultural NSW will be Friday 5 June. James Jegasothy will be stepping in as Acting CEO in the interim.
Thank you for your support.
