It has been a difficult summer for many in our community. The impact of the tragic terrorist attack at Bondi in December continues to be felt, most acutely by our Jewish community, and also more broadly for our multicultural society.

Our team at Multicultural NSW remains steadfast in our commitment to working with all communities and across the NSW Government to ensure your voices are heard and you are supported.

You can read more about our agency’s work following the Bondi attack in this newsletter, including the temporary appointment of our CEO Joseph La Posta as joint Coordinator-General for the Bondi Community Response.

I would like to wish our Muslim communities Ramadan Mubarak. May this holy month be one of peace and blessings for you and your families.

This month is also an important time for many people in our Asian-Australian communities, as they celebrate Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Fire Horse. I wish everyone celebrating a joyful and prosperous new year.

James Jegasothy
A/CEO, Multicultural NSW
