Dr Qazi Ashfaq Ahmad founded the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC), Islamic Foundation for Education and Welfare (IFEW), Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair (MEFF) and many other large community organisations and institutions. He was a pioneer of interfaith dialogue and a leader of the Muslim community in Australia for half a century.
