Message from the Chief Executive Officer
For more than 40 years, Multicultural NSW has advocated for our state’s diverse communities, standing up and speaking out on behalf of everyone in our society. We are the state’s hub of excellence in multicultural policy and engagement and it is an honour to deliver tangible, long-lasting benefits to the people of NSW.
We are immensely proud to have led the way as the first jurisdiction in Australia to adopt multicultural principles as a state policy. These principles laid the foundation for our success story.
Our Language Services team connects people and bridges language barriers to ensure everyone can access vital information and communicate their needs. Our professional translators and interpreters work in more than 100 languages, helping to build social cohesion and understanding.
It is my great privilege and responsibility to build upon the outstanding success of the past, to ensure Multicultural NSW remains an agency our communities and the rest of the world respect.
I will work tirelessly within government and alongside the community to increase the impact, relevance and reach of Multicultural NSW to lead the Agency to fulfil its potential.
Cultural diversity is our reality – a stronger cohesive society, where everyone belongs and has the chance to contribute and participate to the best of their ability, is our goal. We truly are stronger together, so I look forward to continuing to deliver on our priorities to achieve this bright future through our 2021-25 Strategic Plan.
