Janice is an Indian-Australian racial and gender justice advocate.

She is working as a Youth Specialist at the Western Sydney MRC, supporting newly arrived refugee and migrant youth as they transition to Australia. Janice is passionate about tackling inequalities through community-driven approaches, and is especially interested in amplifying the voices of those with lived experience of political challenges.

Janice brings expertise from her undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Sydney. She is currently the NSW state leader for Democracy in Colour, where she has enjoyed developing her community organising skills and mobilising people of colour around matters that affect them. She also continues to amplify the voices of young women and gender-diverse people through her role as Deputy Head of Training at Raise Our Voice Australia.

While completing her studies, Janice was involved in Plan International’s Youth Activist Series (2022). In 2023, she was a facilitator for the Learn2Lead pilot program with Tennis Australia and was part of Plan International’s 2023 Global Youth Reference Group. She also represented Western Sydney in the Greater Cities Commission Youth Advisory Panel and contributed to advancing the Women’s Safety Charter in NSW.
