Hello and welcome to the December edition of our community stakeholder newsletter.

Hello and welcome to the December edition of Multicultural Link, our final community stakeholder newsletter for the 2022 year.

On many levels, 2022 has been another year where the role of Multicultural NSW has deepened within community and our influence and impact has grown across the NSW Government.

In 2022, Multicultural NSW has funded more than 200 community groups and organisations through our Festivals and Events and Project Grants programs.

We’ve provided $8 million for 21 major cultural festivals and events run by 15 local councils and have also sustained our funding for asylum seekers and temporary visa holders, to support our most vulnerable living in NSW.

Over the past two years, we have invested $20 million to enable our specialist service providers to help feed, care and support these NSW residents.

Thank you to my committed leadership team, the entire workforce of MNSW (including our experienced interpreters and translators), colleagues across NSW Government and the organisations we partner with who have all worked tirelessly to support community in NSW.

To everyone celebrating Chanukah, Christmas, and Orthodox Christmas over the coming month, I wish you all a wonderful, restorative festive season and summer holiday.

That’s a wrap for 2022!

Joseph La Posta
CEO, Multicultural NSW
