Welcome to the April edition of our community stakeholder newsletter. It’s our first for 2023, resuming after the NSW election and caretaker period.
Firstly, we congratulate the new Premier, the Honourable Chris Minns MP and new Minister for Multiculturalism, the Honourable Steve Kamper MP on their recent appointments. Multicultural NSW looks forward to working closely with our new government to honour their election commitments and with our Minister to deliver positive outcomes for the community and people of NSW.
This year has started acknowledging and celebrating many large religious and cultural events. We held Lunar New Year festivities throughout Sydney, hosted the 2023 Harmony Dinner, supported our multicultural communities throughout Multicultural March, and celebrated the holy seasons of Ramadan, Easter, Passover and Coptic Easter.
Whilst we’re seeing an increasing interest in our Multicultural Link, please know you can keep up to date with what’s happening at Multicultural NSW on a daily basis through our new website. You’ll see what we’ve been up to including the recently launched NSW Settlement Strategy, community programs such as NSW Growing Regions of Welcome (GROW), the latest Grant funding and read about the great work of our Language Services division. We’re also on social, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Our team looks forward to catching up with many of you in the weeks ahead and thanks for your continued support.
To everyone applying for a festival and event grant, we wish you the very best of luck with your application (for more information, read below).
Kind regards,
Joseph La Posta
CEO, Multicultural NSW
