Welcome to Multicultural March 2026

Every March, communities across New South Wales come together to recognise the many cultures, stories and experiences that shape our state.

Multicultural March is a time to recognise that NSW truly is a multicultural society and a place where everyone belongs. It is a time when our commitment to mutual respect and understanding is publicly demonstrated.

By respecting the cultures, languages and religious traditions of each other, we are stronger together. Through connection, unity, and a commitment to a shared future, our multicultural society can face any challenge together.

During Multicultural March we can actively participate in the lives of others and invite people into our own traditions and cultures.

A highlight of the month is the annual NSW Premier’s Harmony Dinner.

On this special night we celebrate the inspiring recipients of the 2026 Multicultural Community Medals and recognise the lifetime of service of the Multicultural Honour Roll inductees.

Importantly, on 21 March, we mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, a commitment that we as a state continue to strive towards.

This day commemorates the victims of the 1960 Sharpeville massacre in South Africa and all those who have suffered because of racial discrimination. It is a time to reflect on the importance of respect, inclusion and equality for all people.

We look forward to connecting with you throughout Multicultural March.
