Multicultural and multifaith community groups will be supported to host grassroots festivals and events with Multicultural NSW’s Stronger Together Grants Program opening today.

Eligible organisations can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $15,000 to help organise festivities that celebrate and embrace our state’s vibrant cultural diversity.

Every year hundreds of grassroots not-for-profit organisations across NSW use the Festival and Event grants to celebrate their cultural heritage and share food, music and entertainment with everyone in the community.

This includes everything from Moon Festival celebrations to the Disability Festival to the Festival of Lights.

Funding is available for community groups planning to deliver festivals and events between 1 March and 31 July 2024.

Multicultural NSW administers the grants on behalf of the NSW Government.

Grant applications close on Friday 13 October, 3pm and an information session is planned for 4 October, 10am.

NSW Minister for Multiculturalism Steve Kamper said:

“The more connected a community is, the stronger it is in the face of adversity.”

“The NSW Government is investing in grassroots festivals and events that bring us together to celebrate and share cultural connections.”

“It doesn’t matter where you live or visit in NSW, there’s an opportunity to enjoy the culture and vibrancy of the diverse people in this great state.”
