Settlement Services International (SSI)

We’re a not-for-profit organisation working alongside communities facing the biggest barriers to equality, including refugees, migrant communities, people with disability, families, youth, and children from all backgrounds across Australia.

SSI works for equality of life in Australia. For decades, we’ve helped people from all backgrounds settle, thrive, and fully participate in Australian life—while pursuing the fair, inclusive society that benefits us all. When you support SSI, you’re helping create a country where everyone has equal opportunities to contribute and belong.

What we do

We deliver essential services across settlement, disability, employment, domestic violence, health, sports, and arts and culture—while standing alongside those facing inequality to push for lasting change.

Our approach

Founded in 2000, SSI has grown from helping newly arrived refugees settle in Australia to becoming a leading provider of human services, working with over 67,000 people a year. Our approach to achieving social change is firmly anchored in the belief that strength comes from collaboration. We partner with federal and state government departments, community-minded businesses, and domestic and global organisations to create meaningful impact.

Community is in our DNA. We deliver services tailored to the unique needs of communities by working closely with community members to draw on local strengths. Our workforce is an extension of these communities, and we place great value on lived experience, combining it with professional expertise to deliver culturally responsive, high-quality services.

With community at the heart of everything we do, our purpose is to create a world in which everyone has access to equal opportunities.
