Settlement Services International (SSI)

SSI supports individuals, children, families and communities via a range of vital human services, from settlement support of newcomers and refugees, through to programs in employment and education, and health, wellbeing and social supports for all Australians, new and old. SSI stands for equality of life – for everyone and believe in supporting and working with our diverse communities to inspire people’s lives and provide hope, create real opportunities, and strive for a fair and inclusive society.

From humble beginnings to an organisation with a big purpose, SSI has come a long way since its inception in 2000 as the NSW Migrant and Refugee Centre.

SSI’s aim was to help newly arrived refugees settle in Australia and is still at the core of what they do. Over time, their expertise and organisation grew, becoming Settlement Services International. In 2018, SSI merged with Access Community Services in Queensland, and expanded into Victoria.

In 2023, SSI underwent a brand refresh to better reflect its broader services and support offerings. Today SSI offers services and support across sectors in employment, disability, family preservation, at-home aged care, social enterprise and training across three states.
