Khushaal Vyas
Khushaal is a lawyer, teaching fellow, and social commentator.
A past recipient of the Premier’s NSW Multicultural Youth Medal, he advocates for multicultural and Indigenous communities through regional work and roles with government, tertiary, and multicultural bodies like the Western Sydney University, India Advisory Council, Australia India Film Council, and NSW Office of Sport.
As a Senior Solicitor at Youth Law Australia, Khushaal provides free legal advice and representation to vulnerable young workers under the age of 25 across the country. He delivers community legal education programs to young workers and youth service providers across NSW, ACT and NT. For his legal advocacy, Khushaal has been shortlisted as a Finalist in the 2025 Lawyers’ Weekly 30 under 30 Awards.
As a freelance journalist with a focus on multiculturalism and law reform, Khushaal was a finalist at the 2021 Premier’s Multicultural Media and Communication Awards. He has been featured in a variety of mainstream and multicultural publications including ABC, The Guardian, SBS, Crikey, SMH, Pedestrian, Indian Link and Draw Your Box.
An Australian with Indian heritage, Khushaal’s dedication to justice is rooted in personal experiences of community service and his commitment to empowering marginalised voices.
