David Giang

David is Managing Director and Editor of Australia’s first and only Vietnamese language newspaper, Chieu Duong (The Sunrise Daily).

David has built strong community networks spanning over thirty years – from a young graduate in journalism, to leading a multicultural media organisation, and an adviser to the Vietnamese community.

With his extensive career in multicultural media, David has held key advisory roles, where he provided invaluable insight into the concerns of ethnic communities.

David was the youngest member appointed to the NSW Ethnic Affairs Commission serving two consecutive terms as a Commissioner. He is also founding member of the Ethnic Media Council, serving as Secretary and General Manager.

David is currently Vice-President of a charitable organisation, the Vietnamese Australian Buddhist Assistant Trust (VABAT) and also Adviser to Phuoc Hue Temple – The United Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation of Australia and New Zealand.

His previous community involvement includes the successful implementation of an inaugural leadership development program, to help train and upskill young community members.
