Welcome to the August edition of Multicultural Link.
Recently, Multicultural NSW’s Community Engagement team undertook a series of visits across Sydney and regional NSW to listen to and understand the opportunities and challenges currently faced by our communities.
A key concern raised is the ‘cost of living’. To help address some of these concerns, we’re sharing details of a range of Government programs to support the community, including the latest release of the Active and Creative Kids vouchers, the increase in the Child Care Subsidy, Home Buyer Assistance Finder, Cost of Living hub, and the latest on the NSW Rental Laws. Check out Savings Finder, Cost of Living hub and other support programs from the NSW Government below.
The community also raised ongoing concern with food security. Multicultural NSW has committed to participating in the NSW Food Equity Symposium on 5 and 6 September. Please see below to find out how you can participate.
On a celebratory note, last week, the winners of the 2023 NSW Premier’s Multicultural Communication Awards were announced. Congratulations to the winners and finalists who have demonstrated excellence across the multicultural marketing and media categories. View photos of the evening on our Facebook page.
We’re also excited to announce that the nominations for the Premier’s Multicultural Community Medals and Multicultural Honour Roll are now open. Nominations are closing soon. I look forward to seeing the winners at the 2024 Premier’s Harmony Dinner.
