Statement from Multicultural NSW

We strongly condemn the increasing, deplorable cases of anti-Semitism that have taken place in NSW recently. We continue to see reports of people targeted and vilified because of their faith. These actions and behaviour have no place in our society.

Every person in NSW has the fundamental right to feel safe, regardless of their faith or background.

As an agency, Multicultural NSW urges our community to reject the importation of overseas conflicts into our multicultural and multi-faith society. Racism, religious intolerance, hate, and extremism have no home here.

As we move into 2025, the NSW Government remains committed to taking the necessary steps to protect our diverse communities and promote harmony.

Right now, it’s critical to demonstrate our resilience as a multicultural society with compassion, empathy, and support for one another. We implore all people of NSW to refrain from words or actions that fuel hate or resentment.

Please take care of yourselves and those around you. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can uphold the values that make NSW an example of diversity and unity.
