Premier’s message 2026

Welcome to the 2026 Premier’s Harmony Dinner.

Tonight, we celebrate people and organisations whose outstanding leadership and service ensure people from every background belong and thrive in our diverse state.

New South Wales has one of the most multicultural societies in the world. Our success is driven by people who create connections across communities and provide opportunities for everyone to contribute.

At our state’s largest multicultural gathering, this year’s Harmony Dinner carries particular significance. The attack in Bondi was designed to marginalise the Jewish community of NSW, to intimidate and cause fear. It was an attack on every Australian’s right to express their culture and practise their faith openly and safely.

But at the same time, it also reminded us that the overwhelming majority of people in New South Wales reject hate and stand together in support of one another.

Tonight, we bring together 1,600 people from different cultures and faiths in a visible expression of who we are in this state.

The NSW Government celebrates the extraordinary achievements of the Multicultural Community Medal winners and the legacy of the Honour Roll inductees. We also recognise the dedication of everyone in this room to making New South Wales stronger, together.

It is an honour to be with you.
