Regional Advisory Councils

Regional and metropolitan forums which advise on and assist with addressing issues on a local level

To find out more please contact us, the Community Engagement team.

The Multicultural NSW Regional Advisory Councils (RACs) are established under Section 10 of the Multicultural NSW Act 2000. There are 12 Regional Advisory Councils New South Wales. Each Regional Advisory Council is chaired by a Multicultural NSW Board member, and comprises up to 8 community members and 7 government members.

RACs are an important part of the Multicultural NSW community engagement strategy and are well placed to identify issues that affect communities within regional NSW and metropolitan Sydney, and resolve them through co-operation and partnership between community, specialist service providers and government services.

The Guidelines for the Operation of Regional Advisory Councils clearly detail the governance arrangements of RACs.
