Congratulations to all the 2018 winners of the Premier's Multicultural Communications Awards.
The NSW Premier’s Multicultural Communications Awards (PMCAs) recognise excellence in the multicultural media and marketing industry.
Submissions for multicultural media categories must either be submitted in a language other than English, or demonstrate the submission caters to a specific multicultural community. In these categories, submissions from public broadcasters will only be accepted in a language other than English. The works nominated should have been developed between Monday 1 May 2017 and Monday 30 July 2018.
Excellence in news journalism in the coverage of a major news event or community issue.
Outstanding contribution of a multicultural media publication in informing and engaging its audience.
Excellence in broadcast and audio-visual storytelling.
Compelling audio content for radio or online broadcast.
Outstanding use of digital production and new media.
Outstanding photo defining the year or making a strong statement on multiculturalism.
Excellence and commitment to the fundamental principles of journalism.
Outstanding public interest journalism upholding the NSW Multicultural Principles.
The best piece of student journalism about cultural diversity, and/or multicultural affairs.
The pinnacle of journalistic achievement.
The project or campaign being nominated should have been developed between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018. Entrants are encouraged to include all relevant materials to support their entry. All joint entries should be submitted in agreement with both parties.
Open to internal marketing and creative teams in any organisation, that produce marketing campaigns that inform and educate the community on services and programs, adapt services to meet the needs of a culturally diverse society, and/or promote social cohesion and community harmony. Government departments and local, state or federal agencies in NSW are eligible to apply for this category.
Open to public relations, advertising and digital agencies that have created a campaign which recognises the value of cultural diversity through the use of talent, copy and imagery.
Open to any not-for-profit and volunteer-based group, that produces marketing campaigns with cultural diversity, social cohesion or community harmony as a key focus.
