Unity Grants

Unity Grants bring culturally diverse communities together to promote social cohesion and harmony.  Priority areas for Unity Grants are established each year prior to applications opening. Applications must address at least one of the identified priority areas.

Unity Grants of up to $30,000 are available to:

  • non-profit sharing community organisations
  • local councils in partnership with non-profit sharing community organisations.

Eligibility criteria and excluded activities are clearly outlined in our Grants Program booklet, please take the time to review this prior to submitting an application.

2016/17 Priority Areas are:

  • Build strong intercultural/interfaith networks and understanding between diverse communities.
  • Programs and initiatives that combat racism.
  • Address social isolation and barriers to engagement across communities.
  • Contribute to a social framework and services that help support new arrivals, refugees and humanitarian entrants into the NSW community (including initiatives directed towards Safe Haven Enterprise Visa and Temporary Protection Visa holders).
  • Build cohesive and harmonious multicultural society through initiatives that focus on the common values and things that bind Australians together (Such as volunteering ethos, participation in Australian national days and events and recognition of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people).
  • Support programs that assist emerging communities that have not received government funding for activities that promote civic participation, community harmony and social cohesion.
