Support Grants

Support Grants help individuals and communities to participate fully in community life and assist in building community capacity. Support Grants are flexible and varied, ranging from individual support for young people to participate in sport to providing services.

Priority areas are established each year.  Applications must address at least one of the identified priority areas.

Support Grants of up to $10,000 for an organisation and up to $500 for individuals are available to:

  • non-profit sharing community organisations
  • registered sporting clubs in sports recognised by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).

Eligibility criteria and excluded activities are clearly outlined in our Grants Program booklet, please take the time to review this prior to submitting an application.

2018 Priority Areas are:

  • The promotion of strong intercultural networks
  • Arts and sports programs that target young people across all communities
  • Partnerships and programs that promote employment, volunteering and participation for new arrivals and migrants, including programs focused on women, youth and seniors.
  • Supporting participation of people with disability and aged care needs from diverse backgrounds.

 

Support grants this year are split in to two categories:

1. Support Capacity

Support Community Capacity grants help individuals and communities to participate fully in community life and assist in building community capacity

2. Support Participation

Support Participation Grants are to assist young people (to age 25) to participate in organised and registered sport.  To qualify for this funding the young people must be either refugee or humanitarian entrants who have entered Australia within the last five years
