Previous It's My Story
Barefoot Beats was a social inclusion dance based project supported by Penrith City Council at Colyton High School.
The project featured students of Aboriginal, African and Pacific heritage, and promoted cross cultural awareness, creative collaborations and acceptance.
The students learned traditional dance moves and customs, and also shared their own stories. Using the power of storytelling through movement, the students involved helped create the story through learning about each other's cultures and backgrounds and played starring roles in the video project.
Barefoot Beats was recognised with a Zest Award in Outstanding Project Promoting Social Cohesion and Community Harmony for their efforts in 2017.
This is their story.
